So what is a small group, what do they do, and why is it important to be part of a small group? One of my favorite verses that speaks of our need to gather together in community is Hebrews 10:23-25 “23 Let us hold on firmly to the hope we profess, because we can trust God to keep his promise. 24 Let us be concerned for one another, to help one another to show love and to do good. 25 Let us not give up the habit of meeting together, as some are doing. Instead, let us encourage one another all the more, since you see that the Day of the Lord is coming nearer.”
The purpose of our small group ministry is to cultivate and promote spiritual growth and transformation through the reading of God’s word, reflection, prayer, spiritual exercises, life application, service and worship.
Our goal is to help you find the type of community group that best fits your season of life or your stage of faith, because one size does not fit all!
Below are a variety of groups available for you to try. We believe that change is always occurring within us and around us and therefore encourage you to find the group that will meet you where you are currently and help you to grow spiritually.
We have open sign-ups two times a year, one in August and one in January. Open signups will take place on Sunday mornings: January 14 & 21 on the plaza after services. Open sign-ups will close on February 4 for the Winter/Spring semester. Special focused groups will be open mid March for those who miss the January sign-ups. Check back for information on a mid semester group in late February.
I look forward to meeting you and helping you find your place at Grace.
