"But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth." Acts 1:8

Going Glocal 2010

Looking Ahead & Planning

Glocal Trips 2010

March 15 - 26:  China - Bible Distribution:  ($3,000) LiPing Martinez

Target distribution quantity: 20k to 30K Bibles, 2-3 sites and up to 200 sets of Bible study tools. Grace members, donors, and partner churches are welcome to join us for a life changing mission trip where a free, legal, rural, open, verifiable Bible distribution is   conducted in Communist China. China Visa fees and international mission medical insurance premiums are not included in the listed price package.

March 18 - 30:  Uganda - Church Planting/Evangelism: ($3,000) Pastor John Dix

Grace Church of Glendora will play a key role in the development and growth of the local church in Africa in March 2010.  As you may know, people in this region live in a reality poisoned by disease, drought and financial devastation. What you may not know, however, is that though many Africans live within such a reality, the one thing they really want is hope. We will be partnering with Grace Bible Church in Colorado to bring true hope – the love of Christ - to people in Mbale, Uganda. We will reach out to the Mbale community through evangelism, evening crusades, Bible distribution and pastoral training.

April 4 - 17:  Philippines - Medical Team: ($2,500) Gickee Ormeo

Medical professionals (doctors, nurses, EMTs, dentists, ophthalmologists/ optometrists, etc.) will serve thousands of families who need medical attention, ranging from minor surgeries, first aid, physical examinations, as well as health and sanitary training. More importantly, opportunities for evangelism are intentionally integrated in the program. Patients who are seen will not only receive medical assistance but will definitely hear the gospel.

Our team will hold clinics in two sites. The first week will be spent serving in a seminary that will be open for the public and is located in the suburbs of Metro Manila. During this time, our team will be staying at the Grace for Asia condominium, approximately an hour away from the seminary. The team will then fly to southern Philippines, and serve for the third time at the Grace Medical Clinic in Kihan, Saranggani.

April 16 - May 1:  Philippines – Construction: ($2,000) Stan Smith

The existing church in CDO (Cagayan de Oro) was destroyed in January 2009, by flooding. This is a church plant that was established 5 years ago. GFA is going to go and help build a new worship building in a better location that is protected from   flooding. We will be building from the ground up. The walls will be made of cement blocks, the roof, corrugated sheet metal, and the floor, concrete. We will be working alongside the local people to finish this project. A willingness to work is all that is required.

April 23 - May 8:  Matalatala, Laguna, Philippines – Construction: ($2,000) Stan Smith

This is an existing church that is asking GFA to come and help finish the construction that they have already started. We will be installing floor tile, adding a front entryway, and building a small office for the Pastor. We will be working alongside the people there to finish this construction. A willingness to work is all that is required.

May 24 - June 4: Philippines - Street Children, Evangelism, Compassion: ($2,500) Pastor Gene Wood

We will work with "squatter" children along side a ministry established in Laguna,          Philippines. There are thousands of children who live in shacks. The parents do not own the property where they reside, therefore the designation "squatters". In addition to immediate need for love, food, and medical care, these boys and girls need to hear of Christ's love while their hearts are tender. By the time they are young teenagers, many will find or be led to a life of crime and abuse. Love children?  Want to make an immediate difference? This opportunity is for you.

June 21 – July 2:  China - Bible Distribution:  ($3,000) Liping Martinez

Target distribution quantity: 30k to 40K Bibles and up to 300 sets of study tools. Grace members, donors, and partner churches are welcome to join us for a life changing mission trip where a free, legal, rural, open, verifiable Bible distribution is conducted in Communist China. China Visa fees and international mission medical insurance premiums are not included in the listed price package.

October 11 – 22:  China - Bible Distribution:  ($3,000) Liping Martinez

Target distribution quantity: 50K to 60k Bibles and up to 400 sets of Bible study tools. Grace members, donors, and partner churches are welcome to join us for a life changing mission trip where a free, legal, rural, open, verifiable Bible distribution is   conducted in Communist China. China Visa fees and international mission medical insurance premiums are not included in the listed price package.

Want to Go Glocal in 2010?

Contact the church office (626) 335-4067 and ask for the team leader of the trip you are interested in. We look forward to hearing from you.

Procedure & Finance

In 2010, for these glocal projects, we will be offering the financial 1/3, 1/3, 1/3 option (1/3 from the church, 1/3 from support letters, and 1/3 from personal funds) to members of Grace Church who are involved in Grace small group life. Anyone wishing to avail themselves of the 1/3 option needs to start the membership process now and join a Grace small group.  If you would like assistance in this process, call the church office and let us help you.  All about Grace classes are scheduled for December 5, 2009, and February 20, 2010.

All people are free to write to their friends and relatives to ask for support, but if they wish to use Grace Church as a clearing house for tax deduction purposes, they should clear this with us far in advance before doing so. We will only permit this for officially sanctioned Grace glocal projects.

ALL people are invited and encouraged to join our teams as long as they attend the     required briefing and team meetings. This includes non-members and those attending other churches.
